Sunday flight (4/22)

Granger –

Thanks for the use of your windsock today. I got a good flight in, just under a half hour. The wind conditions seemed strange, below ridgeline and on launch it was mainly NE. At the South end of the ridge and as I climbed above ridgeline it was clearly South. I kept expecting some turbulence due to wind shear but maybe something else was going on that I don’t understand. I think my max altitude was a bit less than 1000′ over launch and closer to 500′ most of the time. The most consistent thermal generator was again the wooded knob by the lake to the South of launch.

About the time I sunk out, 6 or 7 pilots were flying North-bound high overhead from Golden heading for Lyons. Bet they made it.
